Louise Redknapp has spoken out on why she’ll be keeping the Redknapp name, as ex-husband Jamie remarries.
The popular pairing, who split after 20 years of marriage, share two sons together.
Because of this, Louise previously spoke out saying she would be keeping Jamie Redknapp’s surname.
Speaking to You Magazine earlier this year, the former Eternal singer said: “People ask me about that a lot. First and foremost, my kids are Redknapps.
“I don’t want to turn up at a school function and have a different second name to my children. I’m proud. Those little things mean a lot to me.”
She continued: “Also, I’ve been a Redknapp longer than I’ve been anything else in my life.”
She explained: “I was married to Jamie for longer than my time without him. So it’s really hard to… It’s like my last bit to cling on to.
“I feel like a Redknapp.”
This comes as Louise was reportedly “shocked” after finding out that ex-husband Jamie, former Liverpool and England footballer, was set to marry Frida Andersson.
Jamie married Frida Andersson-Lourie, a Swedish model, at the Chelsea Registry Office on Monday, October 18.
New bride Frida is currently pregnant with Jamie’s third child.
According to reports, Louise “didn’t know they were engaged”.
A source told OK! Magazine: “Louise was quite shocked, she only found out very recently. They kept it very under wraps, nobody even knew they were engaged.
“It’s very mixed emotions for her, it’s difficult because she’s spoken quite openly about her regret, she’s blamed Strictly quite a lot but, unfortunately, you can’t turn the clock back.
“He wanted his sons to walk in with him but it was a very small affair. She only knew because the boys were there.”
While Jamie prepares to welcome his third child, an insider told Heat magazine that Louise is focusing on her music career.
The insider said: “She’s been doing a lot of soul-searching – writing about her heartbreak over the marriage breakdown, and seeing your ex move on and have a baby with someone else.”
