Battling Love Island contestants may need support to stop them having a mental breakdown.
Bosses tested the couples this week by splitting them up and then tempting them with 12 sexy new arrivals and the fallout on the ITV2 show has been so bad that Faye Winter and Millie Court broke down in tears.
Abigail Rawlings, Teddy Soares and Kaz Kamwi were also left traumatised.
Former contestant Amy Hart has called for contestants to get extra support in the TV villa.
She told the Daily Star Sunday: “It’s really stressful in there. When they split the couples up it’s hard. There’s the fear of the unknown.
“It was a stressful time for me. It’s hard. There should be some extra TLC for the boys and girls where it hasn’t gone their way.”
Fans have expressed similar concerns on social media after seeing contestants break down in Friday’s episode.
One said: “I pray for these islanders’ mental health when they come out of the villa.”
Another said: “Anyone else feel like this year’s Love Island is really gonna f*** up all the contestants’ mental health?”
And a third said: “Let’s hope the wellbeing of the islanders is prioritised.”
ITV has expanded the support it offers to contestants to help them cope with the show and overnight fame. The channel took action after two former stars took their own lives.
Mike Thalassitis and Sophie Gradon had both struggled to deal with internet trolls after finding fame on the show.
Before this year’s series began their families called for Love Island to be axed.

ITV boss Amanda Stavri said: “We’ve extensive measures in place to support the islanders before they go in to make sure they are robust enough to take part in a big, high-profile dating show, and then we look after during, and then there’s a lot of aftercare as well.”
Millie was reduced to tears as she learned about her partner Liam Reardon’s actions in Casa Amor with new girl Lillie Haynes.
Liam was getting rather close to Lillie in the second villa but he ultimately chose stick with Millie.
However, things became awkward when Lillie entered the main villa and revealed to Millie and the rest of the group that herself and Liam had a very close bond.
She also disclosed that she kissed Liam outside of challenges. The news of Liam’s dishonesty later lead Millie to break down in tears.
Love Island continues Sunday on ITV2 and ITVHub at 9pm
