Love Island couple Liberty and Jake are set to split tonight as she calls time on their fleeting but rocky romance tonight.
A teaser for Thursday’s episode shows Liberty telling Jake: “I don’t think you love me.”
Jake then replies: “”What are we saying then, are we saying we’ll go our separate ways then?”
Liberty is also seen saying that she “doesn’t think they’re right for each other” and reportedly hands Jake back the bracelet he gave her previously.
The pair have been through a time recently, with Liberty admitting last week that she wasn’t sure about how genuine he is.
Fans were left gobsmacked during Thursday’s show as Liberty Poole was seen doubting her relationship with Jake Cornish and has even hinted to the possibility of ending things with him.
After nearly two months of being the most official islanders of the villa, the Jiberty pair seems to have hit a rocky road – and fans are not surprised, in fact, they have been predicting it for weeks.
This comes as a result of Jake unpopularly telling his male housemates that he did not want to “rip Lib’s clothes off” while pondering whether or not he was sexually attracted to her.
Love Island fans were quick to express their concern as many thought the 24-year-old water engineer did not treat Liberty as well as he should.
Moreover, Jake was also clocked on the internet for his manipulative behaviour at Casa Amor, where he was seen encouraging other contestants flirting and hooking up with other female participants than the women they had been coupled up with in the villa.
However, viewers thought Jiberty would end following the movie night with a twist episode, where islanders were treated to a quiz and a clip they could choose to see.
As the Mallorca villa tenants were filmed in complete shock from seeing footages from private conversations in the villa that came back to haunt them, nothing prepared Liberty for what the viewers had known throughout this entire time.
The 21-year-old marketing student was caught in disbelief as she saw the infamous scene of her boyfriend making the derogatory comments to his mates.
Thus began the Jiberty bond to crumble, followed by Lib questioning on several occasions if Jake, who had made things official with her prior to entering Casa Amor, was attracted to her.
Fans were disappointed to see Jake handle the situation by constantly replying “but you’re my girlfriend” rather than giving her emotional reassuring, which her best friend in the villa, Kaz Kamwi, appeared to be doing a better job at.
Things took a turn for the worse on Thursday night’s episode, when BFF Kaz was treated to an adorable exclusive relationship proposal from Tyler on the terrace, and Jake was holding Liberty back, preventing her from congratulating the new couple.
Lib went on to confess to Millie Court that she was concerned about Jake’s reaction and that she just wanted to go and speak to Kaz alone and not as a foursome.

She said: “This is about her and not us and that’s what makes me think what’s for the cameras and what’s not for the cameras? What’s genuine and what’s not genuine?”
Liberty continued: “I’m a smart girl and I’m a good judge of character and I do feel like what me and Jake have is genuine and is real.
“But, it felt a bit staged over there. It’s a bit icky.”
To make matters worse, Jake was observed the next day by Chloe Burrows and Lib, spending most of his time hanging out with model Mary Bedford.
The Birmingham student told Chloe that she thought it was weird that Jake had not “pulled her for a chat all day”.
She even admitted to having a gut feeling that “things did not sit quite right”.
Lib joked that she knew what she brought to the table which Chloe iconically replied, “You are the f*cking table!”
To conclude the dramatic episode, a spoiler for tonight’s episode saw the Jiberty pair once again facing challenges in their relationship.
In the clip, Jake was seen pulling Liberty for a chat saying: “I feel like ever since the movie night onwards it has not been the same.
“I can appreciate a good looking girl, Mary is a good looking girl, Millie is a good looking girl, but you’re my girlfriend.”

Naturally, viewers were quick to once again react to Jake’s lack of understanding, as a person tweeted: “did Jake just call everyone attractive but then hit lib with “you’re my girlfriend” and not “you’re beautiful” AGAIN?“
Another wrote: “No because Jake genuinely gets annoyed ANYTIME Liberty communicates her feelings. Everyone single time?? I do not like this man.”
Other took on Twitter to share some other observations they had made throughout the series: “Not that we need any more red flags but I’ve never seen Jake bring Liberty coffee either.”
As the end of Love Island 2021 is approaching, not much time is left for Jake to try to patch things up with Lib, although many fans would prefer to see Jiberty break up for Lib’s case.
Tonight’s Love Island episode will air at 9pm on ITV2
