Love Island's Dale admits he hoped he could 'tame' fiery Faye while in the villa

Love Island reject Dale Mehmet made the shock confession that he hoped he could “tame” tempestuous Faye Winters while he was in the villa.

The hunky Glaswegian made an appearance on ITV 2’s Aftersun after leaving the show to discuss his exit, his partner Abi Rawlings, what his plans are and what he thinks of the other couples.

Though they were voted off together Dale, 26 and Abi, both big tattoo fans, said they are not a couple in real life and said they just want to be “good friends”.

When host Laura Whitmore pressed him about who he fancied while on the show, he promptly replied that it was Faye.

Dale hoped he could ‘tame’ wild Faye

He said: “I don’t know if you could see from outside but I was genuinely into Faye

“But my boy Sam wanted to get to know her as well so I had to let that play out.”

When Laura, 36, pointed out that last week there had been a lot of drama between Faye and Teddy, Dale in fact stepped in to tackle her about her behaviour .

The row emerged after Faye was shown a clip of her beau Teddy admitting that he was sexually attracted to another woman during his time in Casa Amor.

Laura then asked Dale, a barber, “what made him want to intervene?”

“Me and Faye gad a really good connection…because I came in at Casa and it was only the girls I could get to know.

Dale said he had an instant connection with Faye

“Me and her connected really well so I thought I could be the peacemaker… but Faye being Faye, she was mad, she was wild.”

He ruefully added: “I thought I could tame her…but obviously not.”

Faye and Teddy are still going strong despite her “episode” that saw Ofcom receive 25,000 complaints about her behaviour.

She has since apologised though and all seems to be forgiven – in fact, Teddy’s family have even said it’s water under the bridge.

When discussing the incident on a Q&A on Teddy’s Instagram, they said: “Yes, we don’t agree with how Faye reacted but if her apology was genuine then we see potential growth. We are happy Teddy conducted himself as a true gentleman would.”
