Love Island's Hugo slammed for leaving 'cringe' flirty message on Lucinda snap

Love Island star Hugo Hammond has been mocked by fans for leaving a “cringe” flirty message for his co-star Lucinda Strafford on her Instagram page.

The 21-year-old blonde beauty logged into the photo-sharing account over the weekend and was flooded with messages from fans complimenting the stunning photograph.

However, it appears that it wasn’t just fans that were impressed with Lucida’s latest social media display.

PE teacher Hugo, 24, commented: “Jeeezzzzzzzzz. [flame emoji] Yes Cinds” underneath the photograph.

The message didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who went on to mock the dumped Islander.

One fan penned: “You’re cringe mate.”

Another added: “Calm down lad. You ignored every girl in the villa. You had a long time in there and all you thought about is we’re on a lads holiday.”

A third person posted: “Now you wanna make your move when you’re out of the villa?”

While a fourth social media user said: “Hugo moving mad.”

Although fashion brand owner Lucinda didn’t seem phased by Hugo’s apparent flirty message.

She replied to her co-star: “Can’t wait to see you!!” alongside a white heart emoji.

Hugo recently accused Amy Day of using him as a “green card into the villa” during an awkward reunion on ITV’s Love Island: Aftersun.

The pair hit it off in Casa Amor and quickly locked lips, seemingly going from strength to strength with Hugo picking Amy to recouple with.

However, their relationship soon hit rocky ground when they returned to the main villa as a couple.

“I think Hugo is terrible with women, I just don’t think he knows what to say,” Amy insisted after recalling he had infamously quipped “job done!” following their kiss in Casa Amor.

“To sum it up, Hugo says he wants to be true to himself. Can he not be true to everyone at the same time?” Amy then went on.

Host Laura Whitmore gave Hugo an opportunity to respond to Amy’s comments and he replied: “Umm, I don’t really know if I can you know, it makes me really sad that it’s kind of got to this point and you feel this way.

“You know I don’t agree with a lot of the stuff you’re saying obviously but if that’s the way you feel, that’s the way you feel…”

When asked what her biggest regret on the show was, Amy then answered that it was “putting all of her eggs in Hugo’s basket”.

Unable to hold his tongue any longer, Hugo hit back and pointed out that Amy had shared a bed with Tyler on the first night in Casa Amor and claimed she “wasn’t into me from night one and I just felt like a green card to the villa”.

Love Island continues tonight on ITV2 and ITVHub at 9pm
