Luisa Zissman in tears as she reunites with dead horse preserved by taxidermist

The Apprentice star Luisa Zissman has shared a series of photos and an emotional video of herself seeing her dead horse again.

The 33-year-old’s horse Madrono had to be put to sleep because of cancer in 2019, but she couldn’t bear to let him go.

Luisa revealed she had the white horse preserved by taxidermist Simon Wilson, and shared the moment she was reunited with him on Instagram.

In the video, the Celebrity Big Brother babe could be heard saying she was “nervous”, before the red cloth was slipped off the horse.

She then burst into tears as she approached the preserved animal, which she has said will “take pride of place” in her entrance hall.

Luisa wrote: “I can’t describe the overwhelming heartbreak when Madrono died I spent a week in bed and got stress induced vertigo (pathetic I know).

“Seeing him again today was so incredible. He’s perfect, his kind eyes are exactly the same, the little swirls in his coat, his beautiful mane all so perfect.”

She thanked Simon, adding: “You really have made me so happy! Even though I’m ugly crying.”

Luisa told listeners of her LuAnna podcast, which she does with Anna Williamson, that Madrono’s “balls are still intact” – which is great to know.

Her 593,000 followers rushed to the comments section to share a supportive message, while more than 19,000 hit the like button.

One person commented: “Not weird, not pathetic – this is true emotion.

“Animals become family, our best friends. You clearly love him very much and that is beautiful. So pleased you are reunited.”

Another said: “Personally I couldn’t do it I think it would break my heart every time I’d see it, but each to their own. They’ve done a lovely job.”

A third wrote: “Just cried my eyes out. Listen to you every week twice a week and feel like I know you! So happy you got to see your beautiful horse again! Sending lots of love and hugs.”
