Mark Wright breaks silence after backlash over Tekashi 6ix9ine Halloween costume

Mark Wright has taken to his Instagram page, claiming he was not aware of the crimes committed by Tekashi 6ix9ine.

The disgraced rapper, 25, pleaded guilty to the “use of a child in a sexual performance” back in 2018, as well as a string of other crimes.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez also pleaded guilty to nine offences including armed robbery and conspiracy to commit murder.

In the 2015 clip, he simulated a sex act by thrusting himself towards her, according to court documents.

The then 19-year-old pleaded guilty in exchange for a no-jail sentence as long as he did not get arrested and offered an apology to the victim and her family.

He was sentenced to four years probation and 1,000 hours of community service.

However, reality star Mark Wright chose to dress as the musician for Halloween, before being hit with a garage of backlash.

Mark, 34, shared a picture of himself as the multi-coloured hair lag as he posed with his tongue out and his usually bare torso covered in fake tattoos.

Michelle Keegan’s husband even went as far as to wear fake tattoos on his head in the same style as the New York native.

Captioning his post, he penned: “Happy Halloween @6ix9ine.”

Now, Mark has apologised for his actions in a statement shared on his Instagram Page.

He said: “My apologies for last night’s Halloween picture.

“I only knew about Tekashi 6ix9ine’s music and not about his offences.

“Had I known, it would not have been my choice of costume.”

Some of his 1.8 million Instagram followers were quick to criticise him for his decision, with one saying: “Why would you dress up as a sex offender?”

While a second said: “Dressing up as someone as disgusting as this guy… Deffo calls for an unfollow.”

“Of all the people to dress up as,” said a third.

In December 2019, Tekashi was given a two-year sentence and a five-year supervisory release after being charged with state harassment.

Before that conviction, he had been in federal prison for more than a year after being arrested in 2018 for federal investigative charges.

The musician was given early release from prison in April 2020 after co-operating with officers in exchange for information on the notorious Nine Trey Gangsta.
