Nicola Coughlan has teased that production on Bridgerton season two will be “soon”.
While it was reported that filming had started, Nicola shut down those rumours saying: “Not yet!”
But luckily for fans, she hinted that it would not be too long a wait as she added: “Wigs and dresses yet to be made but soon!”
The costumes were a huge part of the success of the show and every piece was made specifically for Bridgerton.
It is understandable that there will need to be some time before filming can begin for season two, in order to make all the wigs and dresses needed.

Creator of the show, Chris Van Dusen, revealed that there was a total of 7,500 pieces made just for season one, stating: “everything you see is bespoke. Everything is made for the show and nothing comes from a costume house.”
Phoebe Dynevor who played Daphne admitted: ‘I’m in a different outfit every scene, basically. We counted and I have 104 dresses, which is just madness.”
Actor Luke Newton, who played Colin Bridgerton, recently teased fans on Instagram after posting a series of throwback, behind the scenes photos from season one.
Many eager fans took this to mean that filming was underway and voiced their excitement for more of the beloved series.
“I’m so excited for season 2 OMG”, said one fan.
Another commented: “The happiness I feel is unparalleled.”

A second series for the breakout show was confirmed earlier this year by Netflix after the series became the most-watched series on the streaming platform, reaching 82 million households.
The show is based on Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton novels, with season two focusing on the sequel to The Duke and I, The Viscount Who Loved Me which focuses on the quest for Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) to find his own bride.

It was recently confirmed that Simone Ashely had been cast as Kate Sharma, Anthony’s love interest, with her surname changed from Sheffield to reflect her Indian heritage.
Speaking to British Vogue last month about the upcoming season Jonathan said: “Well, I feel like the campy, plush spectacle of the Bridgerton world is only going to get more pronounced in the best way possible.
“It’s mad, and it’s brilliant. There are also going to be a lot of brilliant characters introduced in this series — and it’s not just Anthony that we’re going to delve into.”
“The robust universe that’s been set up by Shonda and Chris will just expand and keep pushing boundaries in a way that’s quietly subversive,” he added.
“There’s just going to be more of what everyone loves, I think.”
