Children’s entertainment star Paul Chuckle has paid tribute to his late brother Barry three years after his sudden passing at the age of 73.
One half of the comedy duo, whose real name is Paul Elliot, the BBC icon has remembered his co-star with a sweet throwback selfie of the pair a few years before his death to mark the date he lost his brother online.
The ChuckleVision star took to Twitter to share this touching tribute with his 165,500 followers on the social media platform.
Alongside the sweet selfie, he penned: “Can’t believe it’s three years already RIP Baz … miss you.”
Fans soon flooded the comedian’s post with loving messages of support and condolences to the star as they reminisced on how the comedy couple impacted the lives of so many throughout their time on TV.
One user wrote: “Thinking of you, Paul. You and Baz were such a big part of my growing up, from ChuckleVision to making the baddie corpse in panto. Much love to you. Miss you, Barry.”
Another added: “Three years already. I cherish my memories of seeing you both live multiple time in the theatre. Watching ChuckleVision.
“Every now and then I put in my live show DVDs and still laugh at all the jokes.”
A third added: “The greats never die. Barry is immortalised in every 80s and 90s British child. What an achievement,” with a love heart emoji.
Barry died in August 2018 after he had secretly battled bone cancer for a number of years.
The star decided to keep his diagnosis a secret from his manager and fans because the brave brothers wanted to keep performing for as long as possible prior to his passing.
Just months after the comedian passed away, Paul shared in an emotional interview with the Metro about how he had been seeing Barry in his dreams.
He told the publication: “He’s been in so many of my dreams since he passed away, and I believe in the afterlife – it’s comforting he’s contacting me that way.
“I talk about the good times with Sue, so I’m not just being upset, missing him. He wanted to work up until the end and he did it.
“I just miss those laughs we had on stage,” Paul continued. “I can’t fathom that we’ll never have that laugh together anymore.”
