Piers Morgan has admitted he still watches Good Morning Britain after his exit earlier this year.
The 56-year-old outspoken journalist dramatically lost his job at GMB in March after he refused to apologise for his controversial scrutiny of Meghan Markle.
Piers took to Twitter to praise his ex co-star Doctor Hilary Jones after he slammed landlord Rod Humphris who threw Labour leader Keir Starmer out of his pub on Monday.
The former Britain’s Got Talent judge shared a video of their heated exchange as he took to Twitter to praise Doctor.
Sharing the tweet with his 7.9million followers, Piers said: “Brilliant work by @DrHilaryJones, exposing that gobby publican for the callous ill-informed halfwit that he is.”
Hilary, 67, joined hosts Adil Ray and Susanna Reid to talk about the pandemic, but things turned heated when they chatted to pub landlord Rod Humphris on the ITV show.
Rod Humphris famously threw Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer out of his Bath pub as he didn’t agree with how the opposition responded to the Government’s lockdown plans.
The pub landlord was questioning the nationwide lockdown put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Hilary didn’t hold back as he said to Humphris: “With the greatest of respect, Rod, I think you should stick to pulling pints rather than advising the Government about the policy on the biggest pandemic, public health issue for the last 100 years.”
Hilary added: “We went into lockdown and the numbers came down. It’s very simple.
“You have to have lockdown in a pandemic that kills people. And if you’re saying at 83 it doesn’t matter if you die, you’re saying for the likes of Prince Philip, the last 16 years of his life were meaningless and worthless – we can’t allow that to happen. We can’t be that ageist.”
Morgan left GMB as he sparked backlash over his scrutiny of Meghan Markle after her tell-all Oprah Winfrey interview.
Piers’ comments sparked over 57,000 official Ofcom complaints prompting ITV bosses to ask him to apologise.
He refused and instead quit the show.
ITV shared a statement at the time which read: “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
