Piers Morgan finally reveals the true story behind his famous naked fireplace snap

Piers Morgan has finally admitted that his saucy fireplace photo was actually faked.

The former Good Morning Britain anchor was famously captured in a semi-nude pose for a Burger King advertising campaign.

Piers could be seen lying suggestively on the floor in front of a roaring fireplace with a golden Burger King pendant hanging around his neck.

The bold broadcaster seemed to have stripped off completely for the shoot – and there was only a small red cloth covering up his private parts.

Piers looked every bit the part as he shot a sultry stare down the lens – with a rather hunky body to match.

However, the journalist has now confirmed that the steamy snap wasn’t all as it seemed – and that’s because his head was edited onto a male model’s body.

Piers dished on the sexy shoot and his “surprisingly ripped torso” in his Daily Mail column.

He wrote: “Burger King paid me an obscene amount of money for a tongue-in-cheek advertising campaign in which I posed like Burt Reynolds, semi-naked, lying by a roaring fire and wearing a big medallion, to promote a new fragrance called Flame that supposedly exuded an aroma of flame-grilled beef.

“Lifesize cutouts of the image appeared in BK shops with the slogan: ‘WHERE THERE’S FIRE, THERE’S DESIRE.

“And the world’s women drooled over my surprisingly ripped torso.

He then explained that his hunky bod was actually that of a male model called grant Clarke.

He said: “But I can finally now confess it wasn’t really my body – it was a male model named Grant Clarke.”

It comes as Morgan took another savage swipe at Meghan Markle whilst writing in his Daily Mail column – claiming the Duchess once ‘slid into his DMs’ on Twitter.

He was referencing a past interaction he had on the site with a cast member of the U.S TV legal drama Suits – which Meghan starred in.

Piers penned: “When I followed four cast members of U.S. TV legal drama Suits on Twitter, one of them sent me a private direct message minutes later.

“It read: ‘Well hello there — thanks for the follow. Big fan of yours!’

“Suffice it to say, I don’t think Meghan Markle remains quite such a big fan.”
