Piers Morgan has expressed his longing for the days of Donald Trump’s presidency.
The controversial broadcaster, who sparked a record number of Ofcom complaints in March during his epic Good Morning Britain strop, admitted that he “misses” reality TV mogul Donald Trump being at the helm of US politics.
Piers had plenty of praise for Donald’s “forceful personality”, after the pair initially became buddies when Piers competed on the American version of The Apprentice, with Donald in Alan Sugar’s place.
But since then, Piers has claimed he will “never make up” with Donald, after a Twitter spat which saw Trump unfollow him when Piers told him to “shut the f*** up about coronavirus.”
He went as far as to dub Trump’s handling of the pandemic “an utter disaster”.

Appearing on GMB in January, Piers said he thought Trump had “lost his mind” and “any sense of leadership” by the end of his term, due to how he handled the Covid-19 pandemic.
“At that point I was done. That’s it, sorry, I can’t be [friends] with someone like that,” Piers said on the show.
Former co-star and meteorologist Alex Beresford quizzed him: “Do you think you will ever make up with him in the future?”
And Piers responded: “I don’t think so now. I am a completely loyal person. I stuck with him when everyone was loathing him.

“I have always got on well with him, I did his Apprentice show 12 years ago and that is when we became friends.”
He added: “He is what he is, he’s an extraordinary and unique character, the good the bad and the ugly.
“The problem is when America got really tested, that was always the question, what would he be like and he turned out to be an utter disaster.”
But now it appears he might have changed his mind, as when Piers appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show on Monday night, he was wistful for the past president’s “ability to cut through the bureaucracy.”

“What I did like about [Trump] was his forceful personality enabling him to cut through a lot of bureaucracy and cut to the quick about issues – and NATO was a good example,” Piers explained.
“Everybody knows that most NATO countries don’t pay their bills, we know that because Donald Trump shone a light on that inequity. That it was unfair that America should carry that for so many underpaying European countries.
“He was absolutely right about that. He was also right about the threat of China. Go back two or three years and Joe Biden doesn’t think China is a threat. Suddenly he does.”

Piers continued: “Donald Trump has been calling out China for 30 years.
“So there were lots of things which I felt Donald Trump didn’t get enough credit for.
“Which Joe Biden because he is a liberal, and Democrat president, gets too much credit for now. I don’t think he is held to the same account by the media in America that Donald Trump was.
“And I think that is a plain and obvious fact. And that is not good for the US media. You should be able to hold your own to account.”

He even expressed disappointment that Democratic president Joe Biden’s presence at the G7 summit in Cornwall hadn’t been “chaotic” enough.
“It wasn’t the noise and chaos and unpredictability of a President Trump visit, which personally I rather missed actually.
“He enlivened these dreary affairs where everyone gets together and says boring platitudes.”
Piers elaborated that he isn’t sure that “people want a calm American who isn’t taking dynamic action.”
