Piers Morgan shouts over GMB guest as Trump debate descends into chaos

Piers Morgan was forced to shout over a Good Morning Britain guest on Monday, as he struggled to get a word in.

He and Susanna Reid spoke to former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci and US television host Ben Ferguson, but it didn’t take long for the segment to descend into chaos.

Soon, Piers locked horns with Ben, who was refusing to stand down in his support for outgoing President Donald Trump.

It was clear that Anthony disagreed with Ben, and the two men continued to argue between themselves while Piers attempted to move the debate along.

The 55-year-old shouted over Ben as he tried to get the discussion back under control, asking him about how far his support for Trump would go.

“Ben Ferguson, again, I just say to you, where is your limit with Trump?” he asked. “He should be denouncing these Nazis and white supremacists.”

His comments came after a number of rioters who stormed the US Capitol last week were pictured wearing highly offensive clothing, with designs reading things like “Camp Auschwitz”.

Ben said: “I say again, the last thing he should be doing is inciting more violence. He actually said, ‘I love you, go home in peace.'”

Meanwhile, Anthony called Ben “a disgrace to the United States of America” for “apologising”, which “makes [him] an accomplice”.

During the debate, Ben likened Capitol rioters to Black Lives Matters protestors.

“We shouldn’t be surprised that people have taken to political violence in America right now,” he said.

“Because the reality is, all summer long, media has been normalising violence all year from the Black Live Matter protests.”

He said if Trump was to be condemned, then incoming Vice President Kamala Harris should be as she supported fundraising efforts for Black Lives Matter protestors needing bail money.

But Piers slammed back: “Ben, you are playing what-aboutery again! We will come back to that, I am not going to be unfair Ben.

“I want you to focus on Trump and his culpability of whipping that mob up for weeks into believing a falsehood that this election was stolen.”

However it was clear nobody on the debate would be able to reach a calm conclusion, with Ben firing off snide remarks about Anthony, about how he was fired from the White House after 10 days.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV
