Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan once worked with Donald Trump and classed himself as a friend, but he has now distanced himself from the man who once sat as President of the United States.
Piers, 55, has been vocal in his regret for supporting Donald who once suggesting in front of Americans if an ‘injection’ inside the body with disinfectant could fight coronavirus.
The former Mirror editor has even spoken on TV, claiming Trump had “gone mad” in the midst of the pandemic, as well as losing the 2020 US Election.
Following his defeat which saw Joe Biden named as the 46th President, Trump supporters across America flocked to Washington and stormed The Capitol, leaving five people dead.

Piers tweeted to his 7.7 million followers: “Trump told them to go down to the Capitol, & fight to ‘stop the steal’. So they did.”
He later tweeted: “Trump’s impeachment defence lawyer is a gibbering waffling halfwit.”
During Trump’s impeachment trial, a lawyer representing The Apprentice star said that he only used the word “fight” in a “handful of times” or in “the figurative sense” during an address to the nation.

However, resurfaced footage from his speech on January 6, Trump uses the word “fight” or “fighting” twenty times.
The businessman became the second President in history to be impeached last month and was later charged on January 13 with “incitement of insurrection” following the speech he gave moments before protesters took over The Capitol.

After American politicians voted to impeach Donald, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said: “The president of the United States incited this insurrection, this armed rebellion against our common country.
“He must go. He is a clear and present danger to the nation that we all love.”
After the unrest at The Capitol which saw protesters break into the House chamber, Trump went on a tweet claiming that those who voted for him were “American Patriots”.
He penned: “The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!”
His tweets resulted in bosses at Twitter permanently suspending his profile following a “risk of further incitement of violence”.
Piers for PM? Have your say!
The Daily Star has projected an image of Piers Morgan onto the Houses of Parliament – and we’re asking you are we ready for #PMFORPM?
Last week the Daily Star jokingly asked the question on nobody’s lips: Would PM be a better PM than our current PM?
And it seems we may have inadvertently unleashed a monster. Shy and retiring Piers – no stranger to holding our politicians to account on Good Morning Britain – leapt on the idea.
His odds were slashed from 500/1 to just 20/1 in a single day.
So, are you Team Piers or Team Bozo? Take part in our survey!
They had initially suspended his account for just 12 hours but while the riots were ongoing, Trump tweeted that those in the mob should go home before signing off “we love you”.
