The couple are expecting their second child together.

His last acting gig was in Fflam, a Welsh series which aired on S4C.

The show follows Noni, a widow, as she attempts to move on from the death of her husband, who died in a horrific fire.

Noni is looking into being an egg donor for her friends, who are trying to have a baby, when Beds – Richard Harrington’s character – comes barging into her life.

Richard’s own grief at the loss of his mother in 2014 helped him acclimatise to the part.

“She had cancer and it was a big shock when she had the prognosis, but we had nine months to deal with it,” he said.

“Grief can creep in when you least expect it. You don’t really deal with anything for a couple years after.”

Harrington said he “threw himself into work” in the years following her death.

“I threw myself into work, I threw myself into running, I threw myself into the well-being of my children,” he said.

“But looking back I wasn’t very kind to myself, I didn’t give myself much room to think properly.”
