Prince William and Kate Middleton will have to “uncomfortably” chat with Prince George about the new HBO cartoon that has a satirical take on him, because he is likely to be picked on at school by classmates who have seen it, claim royal experts.
The Prince is an American adult animation created by Gary Janetti that takes a comical look at the Royal Family from the position of George who makes life hard for those around him.
But the depiction of the young prince has sparked controversy, with many royal experts slamming it for poking fun at such a young child.
Royal commentator Roberta Fiorito is among those to criticise it and agreed with Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, who spoke on Good Morning Britain about why it was wrong to have a laugh at the expense of a child.
She also picked up on the view that even if the Cambridge’s don’t let George watch it himself, he is set to know about it from other pupils.

“I feel like everyone should take the time to watch Dr Shola’s perspective on Good Morning Britain because she shares that even if George himself is eight and his parents don’t give him permission to watch it, he’s old enough that his peers and classmates will likely see it,” Roberta said on the Royally Obsessed podcast.
“This is going to have to be a conversation that Kate and William have to uncomfortably have with George about why this matters, and George at eight will not understand why this is happening.
“I just think it’s really inappropriate to go after a kid.
“Go after the Royal Family, I think there is plenty of stuff to make fun of with Charles, Camilla, William or anyone else but kids should be off-limits in my opinion.”
During her appearance on Good Morning Britain, Dr Shola Mos-Shogbamimu condemned the series, saying: “Creating a parody to poke fun at an eight-year-old is not funny. It’s uncalled for and it goes against our collective sense of responsibility.”
The 12-episode animated series mocking the Royal Family premiered on HBO on July 29 and has received mixed reactions from royal fans.
It was also criticised on the Palace Confidential podcast where royal pundits said the series could lead to bullying for the youngster.
“I am genuinely worried that Prince George might be bullied in the playground on the basis of this, what people have seen,” said Richard Eden.
Sarah Vine agreed: “Even a tiny little word in the playground, even a throwaway comment can really cut a child, can really destroy a child’s personality.”
