When it comes to looking youthful, men are not always so keen to openly admit that they’ve had work done but ex England footballer, Rio Ferdinand seems to be pretty open about how he manages to keep his ageless appearance.
The dad-of-four confessed that he’s been using hair dye on his beard after he had become more grey during lockdown.
Talking to BBC presenter Gaby Logan on her Mid-Point podcast, Rio, 42, said he’s not ashamed of his grey hairs but prefers his hair being all one colour.
Rio explained: “If it all went grey, the whole beard was grey, I’d let it just go. But it’s like patchwork.”

However, the former footballer insisted that when he does eventually go grey on top of his head, he’ll embrace it.
“I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I don’t get anything done to it yet.
“I’d like it, that distinguished look, if it was all grey I wouldn’t care. But it’s the patchwork business, I’m like a dalmatian, I don’t like it.”

Rio isn’t the first footballer to have made obvious alterations to his hair to keep a youthful appearance. Former England captain Wayne Rooney, famously underwent hair transplant surgery to ensure his hair looked full and healthy.
BT Sports star Rio recently welcomed his fourth child, Cree with his wife Kate Ferdinand in December 2020.

The pair got married in September 2019 at the stunning five-star luxury D Maris Bay hotel located in Turkey in front of family and friends.
The football legend is also father to Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and nine-year-old Tia, from his previous marriage to Rebecca Ellison, who sadly passed away in 2015 at the age of 34.
