Rita Ora 'splits' from boyfriend Romain Gavras amid backlash over Oz trip

Rita Ora, 30, and her boyfriend Romain Gavras, 39, have split, according to reports.

The How To Be Lonely songstress, 30, is said to have found it hard to keep the relationship alive amid the ongoing coronavirus lockdowns.

The duo are understood to be keen to remain friends.

A source said: “Rita and Romain have decided to end the romantic relationship for now due to the distance between them. But they will remain a close team.”

An insider added to The Sun: “Sadly, with the lockdown restrictions, this is all just about them being apart from each other for so long, and now Rita’s work in Australia would have kept them apart.”

The duo were last seen together in public back in November when they were snapped out and about in London.

Recent reports claimed that Rita and Romain’s relationship had becoming strained over the past few weeks.

However, as Rita saw her reputation left in tatters following her decision to host an illegal bash for her 30th birthday, Romain is said to have been supportive of her.

Despite being in the middle of a pandemic, and with the infection rate spiralling out of control, Rita decided she would party with some of her closest pals at Kensington haunt Casa Cruz.

The police were called by a concerned member of the public but upon arrival were unable to gain access to the venue.

A recent hearing held by Chelsea and Kensington council heard how CCTV had been deliberately turned off.

Case Cruz’s manager claimed he was offered £5,000 by Rita’s team to host the party – despite it being a blatant breach of Covid guidelines.

Rita sparked a fresh backlash this week after jetting Down Under ahead of filming of The Voice Australia.

The chart-topper was booked to appear on the show months ago and will be spending 14 days in quarantine to abide by the country’s Covid laws.

Australia have one of the strictest coronavirus laws – with a cap of 4,250 arrivals in place for the whole of the country.

Australia’s shadow home affairs spokeswoman, Kristina Keneally, accused Rita of taking a hotel spot at the expense of Australians trying to return home.

Rita is set to make Sydney her home for the next few months while filming the hit talent show.
