Television presenter Ruth Langsford has said she is overjoyed after receiving the first dosage of the coronavirus vaccine.
The Loose Women anchor took to Instagram to describe her experience, showering medical staff with praise and saying the injection was “painless”.
Ruth, 60, revealed she was initially sceptical after receiving a message inviting her for the first dosage, thinking she was being scammed.
Taking to her social media pages, the presenter who was born in Singapore proudly shared a picture of herself the moment the vaccine was administered into her arm.
An emotional Ruth penned: “JUST HAD MY VACCINE!!

“VACCINE!! Feel SO grateful. Thought it was a scam message at first as I wasn’t expecting to be called until March!”
She went on to say: “Thank you, everybody, staff & volunteers, at the vaccination centre in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey… a quick, well organised and very friendly experience.
“The jab took seconds and was painless.”
After thanking the “lovely” NHS staff for doing “an amazing job” Ruth added: “Another step forward to being able to see my Mum again I hope. Thank you @nhsengland @astrazeneca @oxford_uni #covid #vaccine.”

Fans instantly rushed to the comment section to celebrate Ruth being vaccinated.
One fan penned: “May I say you always look very glam even when getting a vaccine.”
A second went on to say: “Brilliant. Glad you took them up on their offer. You are a great role model.”
“Well done. Hopefully, will be me soon,” typed another.

After West End actress Ruthie Henshall urged for it to be illegal for care homes to ban visits, Ruth Langsford held back her tears as she said: “This is very close to my heart as my mum has not been out of her care home since March.
“The biggest concern for lots of people is if they die and you haven’t actually held them.
“I’ve seen my mum through a window, I phone her all the time but I haven’t physically touched her.”
Despite her heartache, Ruth acknowledged that she understands why such a ban is in place until people have been vaccinated.
