Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford has had yet another awkward encounter with Phillip Schofield.
Ruth was doing a live link on This Morning to tell viewers what was coming up on Loose Women. Even though their exchange was brief, Ruth still managed to get in a dig at Phillip.
It has added fuel to the fire as speculation continues of an ongoing feud.
On Monday’s show, when a beaming Phillip introduced Ruth, he said: “It’s Ruth’s turn today.”
With a hint of sarcasm Ruth replied: “Yay, my turn…
“I was just remembering your glitter phobia. I remember buying your Christmas card once, only once, which had glitter in.”
Phillip was unable to reply as Ruth then immediately let viewers know what was coming up on Loose Women.
The pointed festive exchange indicates that there’s still no love lost between the pair.
Two years ago The Sun reported that Ruth, who was then the Friday host of This Morning with husband Eamonn Holmes, had made a formal complaint against Phillip.
It came after Phillip cut Ruth off in the middle of a sentence on air when she was hosting Loose Women.
At the time it was also reported that eight top This Morning stars were unhappy about the show’s ‘toxic’ environment behind the scenes.
Phillip and Ruth then shared an awkward on-stage hug at the 2020 NTAs during an acceptance speech for Best Live Magazine Show.
Phil awkwardly wrapped his arm around Ruth as he thanked her and Eamonn for their work on the Friday editions of This Morning.
However Ruth clearly bristled when Phil put his arm around her as viewers at home cringed as they watched the awkward exchange.
Eamonn Holmes has reportedly now quit This Morning for a role at GB News. Meanwhile, Ruth continues to be a part of the Loose Women team and is unlikely to be back at This Morning.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary are now settled in as co-hosts of the Friday show.
