Sarah Harding’s cancer diagnosis has helped rekindle the lost love the Girls Aloud members have for one another.
Kimberly Walsh has explained that since the heartbreaking news the famous group have bonded once more.
Sarah announced her she was battling cancer in August last year.
Speaking frankly, Kimberley said: “We’ve all been in contact a lot.
“Obviously, with the past few months, where we’ve received the sad news about Sarah, it’s made us be in contact more regularly than we would be normally.
“As much as this is a tough time for us, it’s nice that it’s given us the drive to spend time together.”
She added to OK! magazine: “We’d been together for 15 years and you don’t survive that long if you don’t have a deep friendship.
“People think some of us are closer than others – and that’s absolutely normal – but in terms of friendship it’s so much deeper than that when you’ve gone through those experiences. Sarah knows that. She always did.
“Hence why us girls will always be there for each other.”
Kimberley’s comments echo that of fellow bandmate Nadine Coyle.
Speaking on an Instagram live session with Sink The Pink, Nadine said: “At the minute it is very much thinking about Sarah, very much being there for Sarah.
“We are worried about Sarah, so we are focusing everything. That is the main priority.”
Tragically Sarah has revealed in her upcoming book that she was told Christmas 2020 could be her last.
In an emotional statement released last August, Sarah said: “Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body.
“I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can.”
Sarah added: “My amazing mum, family and close friends are helping me through this, and I want to say a thank you to the wonderful NHS doctors and nurses who have been and continue to be heroes.
“I am doing my very best to keep positive and will keep you updated here with how I’m getting on.
“In the meantime I hope you’ll all understand and respect my request for privacy during this difficult time. Sending you all so much love.”
Sarah’s autobiography Hear Me Out is slated for release March 18.
