SAS: Who Dares Wins’ Ant Middleton on being an 'alpha male' after Channel 4 axe

SAS: Who Dares Wins’ Ant Middleton posted an “alpha male” shot of himself on Instagram on Thursday in the wake of his axe from the Channel 4 series.

He captioned the post: “Be proud of who you are no matter what! I am an Alpha male and I love who I am! This one size fits all approach isn’t realistic nor true to our uniqueness!

“Do not be squeezed into a box that you don’t fit in… Be you, be proud, be resilient and stay true to who you are!”

He added: “’Don’t employ a Lion if you want a kitten’ #zeronegativity #beyou #standproud #standtall”.

The post was a picture of Ant from the latest series of SAS: Who Dares Wins, alongside AFLW player Sabrina Frederick who commented on the post “One of my favourite moments and 100 percent agree”.

Yesterday Ant furiously denied accusations that he had made “inappropriate” remarks to female crew on set.

Ant Middleton furiously denied allegations of misconduct towards female staff

Ant said: “They’re [Channel 4] coming out with excuses, everything like inappropriate comments it’s like you’re on SAS: Who Dares Wins you know we say inappropriate things and we do inappropriate things that if you get offended by them then so be it.”

Ant continued: “You know the course is a hard course. It’s hardcore, it’s gritty.

“You’re going to see inappropriate things, you’re going to witness inappropriate things, but it’s never direct.

“When it says ‘inappropriate comments’ it wasn’t direct it’s what someone has seen on the show and gone, ‘oh I don’t like what they’ve done to that recruit’ and they have made complaints like that.”

He admitted that he has “butted heads” with some people and that “I probably haven’t been easy to work with” but said he spoke to female contestants the same way he spoke to men and categorically denied the accusations.

On Monday Channel 4 and Minnow Films announced they sacked Ant for “personal conduct” and would not be working with him again.

Ant has been the lead on the Channel 4 show since 2015

When asked about the claims Channel 4 told the Mirror that: “We can’t comment on anonymous allegations, however, we take issues of welfare very seriously. We clearly set out our expectations of behaviour in our Supplier Code of Conduct. We are satisfied appropriate action has been taken.”

Ant joined the armed forces at age 17 before enlisting in the Royal Marines.

He signed up as the lead for SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2015 where he helped train people using gruelling SAS physical and mental exercises.
