One fan has recalled the time that Sean Lock performed at a small village show to raise money for the family of a cancer patient who had died.
A fan on Reddit has opened up about seeing the late comedian live, which comes after it was announced at the start of the week that Sean had tragically passed away at the age of 58 after battling cancer.
Reddit user Guevarra25 took to the forum site to explain the sweet memory.
Guevarra25 said: “A local from a small village near me died of cancer (2019) and to raise money for her family we had a comedy show on, in our local 70+ seater theatre and SEAN LOCK performed!”
“He started his skit with the funniest line.:“If it’s Ok with you, I’d like to perform a poem that Channel 4 didn’t air as apparently it was too offensive – let me know what you think” he then pulls out a piece of paper and shouts “THERE WAS AN EXTREMIST FROM BIRMINGHAM” and I couldn’t breathe with laughter [sic].”
Reddit users were warmed by the sweet memory, with many saying how he sounded like a “lovely man”.
Guevarra25 then replied to one user and said: “He seemed so! We live an hour train travel from London and we only have one train that leaves hourly. Before he left, he apologised that he had to dash off and he couldn’t take any photographs as he would end up not catching the last train [sic].”
A representative for Sean Lock confirmed the performance to Metro.co.uk.
This comes as it has been reported that Sean spent his final months in a hospice before he passed away at home surrounded by his close friends and family.
The father-of-three was best known for his dry sense of humour and appeared on several Channel 4 hit panel shows such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
