Sex Pistol John Lydon has declared war on wokeness, saying it’s a weapon being used by the privileged to stomp on the working classes.
The Anarchy In The UK singer, 65, despises the cancel culture trend for tearing down and defacing statues of figures including PM war hero Winston Churchill over their alleged racist pasts.
He ranted that universities are churning out a generation of “spoilt” snowflakes with “s**t for brains” who go on to attack “popular opinion” when they graduate and are given the oxygen to air their views on TV.
Rocker John spat about woke whingers: “These people aren’t really genuinely disenfranchised at all.
“They just view themselves as special. It’s selfishness and in that respect it’s divisive and can only lead to trouble.

“I can’t believe that TV stations give some of these lunatics the space.
“Where is this ‘moral majority’ nonsense coming from when they’re basically the ones doing all the wrong for being so bloody judgmental and vicious against anybody that doesn’t go with the current popular opinion?
“It’s just horribly, horribly tempestuous spoilt children coming out of colleges and universities with s**t for brains.”

Turning to the woke brigade who defaced statues including a London Churchill one after claims the wartime Prime Minister had racist views, John sneered: “This man saved Britain.
“Whatever he got up to in South Africa or India beforehand is utterly irrelevant to the major issue in hand.
“We are not walking up and down the high street with jackboots and helmets because of that man.
“The Nazis were the biggest race haters of all, ever, in the history of the planet so thank you again, Winston.”

Trump-supporting John believes America is now collapsing and being destroyed by the Joe Biden administration as it respects nothing except “the latest woke fashion trend”.
He insisted Trump’s supporters are “regular working people” and far from “redneck, gun-toting, moronic race haters”.
John – now a full-time carer for his Alzheimer’s stricken wife Nora Forster, 78, at their LA home – also said a publicity-shy ex-royal and his woke champion wife were wrong to moan about their lives in a recent Oprah Winfrey interview.
He vented: “There’s many a McDonald’s both here and in Britain that are more than willing to take on either one or both of them and then they can be truly independent earning their own money.”
