Simon Cowell celebrates bumper win at Royal Ascot alongside HRH Prince Charles

Simon Cowell couldn’t hide his glee on Tuesday after coming up trumps during a day at the races.

The Britain’s Got Talent and X Factor mogul was seen celebrating with his wife Lauren Silverman and close friend Sinitta after his horse took home the trophy at Royal Ascot.

Looking dapper as ever, Simon stuck to the event’s traditional dress code and wore a morning suit complete with tie.

Meanwhile, never one to go understated, Sinitta opted for a bright blue dress and statement red hat.

Lauren teased her trim frame in a figure-hugging yellow dress.

She completed her summery look with a white hat.

Simon and Lauren have been taking full advantage of a break in the businessman’s hectic schedule and glorious summer weather.

Earlier this month Daily Star revealed how Simon had whisked Lauren and their son Eric off to swanky members club Soho Farmhouse for a bank holiday getaway.

A source told Daily Star Online: “Simon is back living in London and with America’s Got Talent kicking off on Tuesday the bank holiday weekend was the perfect time to get away.

“He was seen enjoying some down time in the sun with Lauren and Eric and Soho Farmhouse.

“People obviously recognised him but no one bothered him. It’s the perfect home away from home and allows celebs to unwind away from the cameras.”

While it’s not known if they spoke to one another, Simon was just meters away from His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales who also attended event alongside wife Camilla Parker Bowles, Duchess of Cornwall.

Last week a new Channel 5 documentary claimed The Queen was ‘ruthless’ in how she treated Camilla following the passing of Princess Diana in 1997.

Speaking on The Windsors: Inside the Royal Dynasty, journalist Richard Kay said: “The public were still madly in love with Diana and Diana’s memory and every time they heard mention of Camilla it brought back a bad memory.

“The Queen was utterly ruthless.

“In that period she and Philip made it absolutely clear that Camilla was not welcome and they would not be seen with her.”

Echoing the reality behind palace walls, biographer Penny Junor said: “The Queen knew precisely how damaging Charles’ relationship with Camila had been for the Monarchy.

“On Charles’ 50th birthday The Queen gave a party for him at Buckingham Palace, to which Camila was not invited.

“Charles was being told by by his mother the way the whole situation is solved is that Camila must go. “
