Emma Bunton is ready to spice up RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
She will be joining the panel as a guest judge on the new series.
A show insider told me: “Emma is a cracking signing for the show – she’s one of the best names yet.
“She is a British icon and has a global fanbase. Everyone was tickled pink that she agreed to take part.”
The Spice Girl filmed her stint for the BBC Three show earlier in the year, and she went down a storm with contestants.
Emma is following in the footsteps of bandmate Geri Horner who was a judge on the first series.
Our insider added: “Producers would love to have all of the Spice Girls come in at some point. They are all feminist icons, so they’re perfect for Drag Race.”
Show bosses are yet to reveal when the new series will air. But a recent teaser said the contestants will be unveiled soon.
I’ve already revealed other guest judges will include actress Michelle Keegan and Little Mix singer Leigh-Anne Pinnock.
Oh, and Sir Elton John will be making an appearance by video link.
RuPaul churns out new series quicker than Katie Price finds new boyfriends.
But I’m not complaining!
Drag Race fans are currently getting their fix from the new Australian version of the show, as well as the original series over in America.
Hinting season three of Drag Race UK isn’t far off, a teaser trailer was released by BBC earlier this week.
The show will see 12 queens try their hardest to win RuPaul over, earning the title of the UK’s next drag superstar.
Applications for series three opened last year, coming to an end in November.
One of season three’s contestants has been confirmed – Veronica Green, a London based queen.
Veronica was forced to prematurely leave the competition in season two after testing positive for Covid, leading RuPaul to invite her back for the new series.
