Strictly’s Amy Dowden told Rylan in It Takes Two that since McFly’s Tom Fletcher nailed the lifts on Saturday night’s show, their rehearsals have totally changed.
The duo received an impressed 34 points from the judges for their salsa routine to Watermelon Sugar which featured some daring lifts.
Fans were concerned after footage from the rehearsals showed Tom had been struggling to lift Amy during their practice sessions, but he managed it on Saturday night.
Talking on the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show, the pair also revealed that Tom’s adorable young children have been inspired by their dad’s dancing and dramatic lifts.
His three sons, Buzz, Buddy and Max have been trying to learn his moves too, which has apparently made their behind-the-scenes rehearsals even busier.
Dancer Amy has been teaching Tom’s adorable sons some dance tips so they can copy their devoted dad.
She told Rylan: “They’re naturals, they pick it up just like that!”
The busy week came after Amy won a BAFTA Cymru for her emotional documentary, Strictly Amy: Crohn’s & Me.
Her hard-hitting documentary gave fans an insight into what her life is like living with Crohn’s disease.
Amy wrote on her social media: “I can’t believe I’m a BAFTA winner!!!
“Thank you so much! I am soooo thrilled (a little bit tearful) to win a BAFTA for my documentary Strictly Amy: Crohn’s & Me,” she added.
“Thank you to everyone at Wildflame TV and BBC for all your support.”
She also thanked: “My family, Ben and of course all my brave fellow IBD sufferers for sharing their stories.”
Amy joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and was over the moon when she was teamed with McFly star Tom, as she was a huge fan of the band when she was young.
Tom revealed his motivation for wanting to win the show, after he said he has to walk past his wife Giovanna’s crown and sceptre every morning.
She won them for being Queen Of The Castle in I’m A Celebrity last year, and his bandmate Dougie Poynter also won the show in 2011, and Harry Judd won Strictly the same year.
His friend Matt Willis of Busted also won I’m A Celebrity in 2006.
Tom said: “They’re all very talented and I guess it adds a little bit of pressure.”
