Sunday Brunch viewers were left concerned as Simon Rimmer was replaced by Miquita Oliver during the latest edition of the Channel 4 show.
Tim Lovejoy was back on our screens on Sunday morning but his co-star Simon was noticeably missing.
TV star Miquita Oliver stepped in to host the show alongside Tim and quickly admitted that she “hadn’t did her homework.”
Tim and Simon have fronted the programme since 2012 and it has become a staple for viewers in the weekend telly schedule.
Fans were quick to notice that Simon had not turned up for work and took to social media to question Simon’s whereabouts.
One fan penned: “Where is Simon Rimmer today?
Another added: “I never thought I’d miss Simon Rimmer on #SundayBrunch but here we are…..”
A third person posted: Used to like #SundayBrunch. But Simon Rimmer’s replacement is cringeworthy.
While a fourth social media user said: “So where is Simon Rimmer today?
Opening the show, Tim informed viewers: No Simon this week. He’s off.”
He cheekily added: “He’s probably got a hangover, good morning Simon if you’re watching.
“My co-presenter this week is Miquita Oliver” with the 37-year-old beauty later waved to the camera.
“Welcome to the show, how are you?” Tim, 53, asked. Miquita replied: “I’m really good, it’s really lovely to be here actually.”
“Are you looking forward to doing the show?” the ex-Soccer AM star asked.
“Yeah, let’s totally do this!” she responded enthusiastically. But it seems she hadn’t done much research on the show.
“Have you done your homework, do you know all about it?” Tim probed.
“No,” the radio star admitted laughing. Tim commented: “That’s a good start.”
It seemed Miquita wasn’t joking, as she was stunned that the show’s credits had its own theme song.
“Wow, I didn’t know you guys had a tune!” she remarked.
