The Chase fans floored as celeb team beat Shaun Wallace and win £74,000 for charity

The Chase fans were left on the edges of their seats as celebrity contestants managed to beat chaser Shaun Wallace in a nerve-wracking final round.

Celeb players Louise Minchin, Scott Mills and Gareth Malone made it through to the final round and managed to answer 15 questions between them correctly.

But viewers were left questioning if chaser Shaun was able to pull off a show-stopping performance as he repeatedly got a few questions wrong which gave room for the players to push him back.

With only seconds to spare, the celebrities managed to beat Shaun and win an incredible £74,000 for their charities.

A third commented: “Brilliant!! 74K!!”

“Omg @scott_mills #thechase 2 seconds!!” A fourth fan exclaimed.

On Saturday night’s programme, some viewers were left wondering whether Shaun had purposely thrown away his chances of beating the celebs due to it being a celebrity special.

Taking to Twitter again, one fan wrote: “Just seen Shaun off #TheChase deliberately getting a question wrong so £74000 goes to charity, that’s a stand up guy there.”

Meanwhile, another commented: “You can always tell when he let’s them win the money for charity, @TheShaunWallace has a heart, what a big softie…”

On last week’s celeb special, TV journalist Naga Munchetty took a cheeky swipe at chaser Mark Labbett before missing out on an incredible £111k.

In the tense head-to-head round, Naga questioned whether Mark remembered people’s names as he called sportsman Gareth Thomas his nickname Alfie.

But although she called him on it, Naga was unable to her answer her questions correctly and was beaten by the chasing- missing out on the huge monetary offer.

Feeling gutted for Naga, fans took Twitter to air their disappointment.

One user wrote: “Gutted that gorgeous Naga didn’t get through.”

Another added: “Argh! Gutted Naga lost then. Such bad luck.”
