This Is England's Thomas Turgoose jokes he pimped out his mum for money as a boy

This Is England star Thomas Turgoose, 29, has told how he would ‘pimp out his mum’ for money when he was a young boy.

The actor, who played the role of Shaun Fields in the iconic film and later TV series, admitted to Made In Chelsea duo Jamie Laing and Frances Boulle he would accept bribes to let men chat to his mum alone.

Speaking on the lads’ ever-popular podcast Private Parts, Thomas said: “I spent a lot of time in the pub when I was a kid with my mum.

“I always remember my mum was single and I remember a guy was chatting my mum up.

“He was talking to her long and I knew that I was doing his head in.

“C***blocking if you will. He said to me ‘go and play pool’.

“I said give me a fiver or two quick and I will leave you alone for a bit.

“So I ended up getting money. Technically I was pimping my mum out at a very young age.

“Which now in the grand scheme of things… you know…”

Not stopping there, the actor continued: “I am still like that now I guess.

“If there is a way of making a bit if money and you know you can do it you’re obviously gonna do it.”

Taking a more serious tone, the actor explained how if it hadn’t been for the hit TV series he believes he would have ended up in prison.

“She was a single mum and she had four boys of her own,” he explained.

“I goes I was kind of out of control a little bit. I knew my boundaries of what I could get away with.

“I was destined for prison I think. I really was.”

The Shane Meadows release spawned a TV series spin-off This is England 86.

The four part spin-off was set three years on from the film and allowed the characters lives.
