Dermot O’Leary has swiped at Alison Hammond after the pair co-hosted the show for an additional day outside of their usual Friday slot.
This Morning hosts Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond would usually host the show together on a Friday, but as they teamed up once again for Thursday’s show, Dermot seemed less than impressed.
After the pair started an in-depth conversation about potato salad and the fact that Dermot was going to be cooking up a storm on the show, Alison warned him that it “better be good”.
Responding to her comment, Dermot said: “Do you have any idea what it’s like to work with her?”
While Alison was affirming: “You love it, you love it!” Dermot added: “She’s like this all the time.”
He added: “I do but it’s exhausting. Every Friday it’s fine!”, but it seems for Dermot, that one extra day this week has been far too much.
Regardless, Alison was certainly left excited to try Dermot’s potato salad – with his cooking segment planned for later in the show.
It comes shortly after Dermot confessed that he and Alison clashed when they were first working together on This Morning.
The pair, who hadn’t worked together before nor met socially in years, were teamed up as the new duo to replace Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford earlier this year.
After Eamonn and Ruth stepped back from the main show, Dermot and Alison were given the Friday slot, while Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield usually head up the Monday to Thursday show.
Dermot previously confessed he didn’t get off to the best start with Alison as they didn’t have time to build up a rapport, which resulted in friction.
Speaking to Fabulous, Dermot confessed it was “awkward” when they first started shooting together.
He said: “We literally met for the first time in 15 years or so and that morning we presented two-and-a-half hours of live television together.
“The idea that there wouldn’t be a period of getting to know each other is insane.”
Dermot confessed that the pair fixed their relationship by being incredibly blunt with one another when the camera would switch off.
The pair now get on better than ever – but it hasn’t stopped the pair throwing subtle swipes at one another in a friendly fashion.
This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10:30am.
