Timothee Chalamet is reportedly co-hosting the upcoming Met Gala 2021.
The 25-year-old actor, who has never attended the fashion event before, is said to be presenting alongside poet Amanda Gorman and CFDA Chairman Tom Ford, according to Page Six.
Timothee is said to have been chosen by Anna Wintour for her annual Costume Institute benefit.
The star-studded event is usually held on the first Monday in May, but due to the pandemic, it has been pushed back to September.
Last year’s black-tie event was cancelled due to coronavirus, but it’s hoped things will be ‘more normal’ when the event finally goes ahead later this year.
The event, which raises funds for Met’s Costume Institute, is the biggest night in fashion.
Oscar nominee Chalamet is known for his sensational sense of style as he wears designers such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, and S.R. Studio on red carpets.
The Call Me By Your Name star told Time Out in 2018: “I hear about celebrities who have stylists, and that blows my mind.
“It’s certainly not why I act, but I can wear cool clothes from some of the nicest designers in the world. So why am I going to pay someone to figure out what I should be wearing? That’s the fun part.”
Last year, the evening was highly tipped as one of the first events Meghan Markle would make an appearance at after quitting the British Royal Family at the end of March.
The event’s cancellation in 2020 marked the first time that the Met Gala was ever been cancelled during Anna’s 25 years as chair.
A source had previously told The Sun how Meghan has been keen to attend the event.
An insider said: “The Met Gala is for the Who’s Who of showbusiness.
“Naturally Meghan was one of the first names on the guest list, and Edward’s team are excited that the two will go together.
“Meghan is keen to step out occasionally without Harry so that she can establish herself once more in Hollywood.”
