Speaking to the magazine Jonnie spoke of how telling his wife about his tragic news was “devastating” and left him being unable to do anything other than apologise because he “felt so responsible”.

Comparing keeping his health battle a “dirty secret” to having a “monkey on his back” the property expert wants to inspire those with “life-limiting prospects to make the most of every day”.

He also wants to help them “see that you can live a positive life, even though you are dying”.

Jonnie touched on how he knows that one day his illness will “catch up with him” but he urged that he is doing everything he can to postpone that for as long as he can.

“I owe that to Jess and our boys. Some people in my position have bucket lists, but I just want us to do as much as we can as a family,” he told the magazine.
