Adele fans fume as tickets for new Las Vegas residency shows soar to £33k

Tickets for Adele’s newly announced Las Vegas residency are currently being sold for a staggering $40K (£33,267,60) each online.

Beginning November 18, Adele will take the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip each weekend through March, with off dates planned for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.

But the highly anticipated residency has already fallen victim to online price hikes, with third ticket party ticket websites like StubHub demanding exorbitant prices from concert-goers.

For Adele’s opening night, two front-row tickets are listed for $41,280 each.

With StubHub’s $6,191.93 per ticket service fee, as well as a $2.98 per ticket fulfilment fee, the total cost comes to a mind-blowing $94,949.82 (£78,962.63)

StubHub does not have a set fee percentage that applies to ticket sales. Instead, the ticket broker says its service fee is based on the ticket price and supply and demand.

The more moderate tickets range from a little above $4K to $20K.

The reps for The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace have not commented on the steep prices.

Furious fans took to Twitter to comment.

One blasted: “No one is worth THAT KIND OF MONEY! Ridiculous! It is a hard time for most Americans right now. I hope there are many empty seats at these concerts!!”

A second raged: “Boycott boycott boycott,” while a third added: “Gotta get a 2nd mortgage to get a ticket.”

Adele cancelled her Las Vegas residency citing complications due to Covid.

Adele posted an emotional message earlier this year cancelling her Las Vegas residency

However, the Academy Award-winning songstress announced yesterday she is rescheduling her shows, telling fans on Instagram: “Words can’t explain how ecstatic I am to finally be able to announce these rescheduled shows. I truly was heartbroken to have to cancel them.”

The Easy On Me singer continued, “But after what feels like an eternity of figuring out logistics for the show that I really want to deliver, and knowing it can happen, I’m more excited than ever!”

Speaking of her decision to cancel her first residency, Adele added, “Now I know for some of you it was a horrible decision on my part, and I will always be sorry for that, but I promise you it was the right one.

“To be with you in such an intimate space every week has been what I’ve most been looking forward to and I’m going to give you the absolute best of me. Thank you for your patience, I love you. Adele.”
