Alfie Templeman has revealed he was left gutted when he couldn’t meet Harry Styles, just weeks after covering his Number One hit on BBC’s Live Lounge.
The hitmaker is currently in the midst of a summer of festivals and gigs, having returned from Australia where he had also been on tour.
Despite being one of the biggest upcoming artists, the 19-year-old lad admits he’s still not met his idol but was almost in his presence after finding out they were on the same festival lineup.

The shaggy-haired star and Harry, 28, both appeared at BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend in May, just days before they both took to the same stage.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star from his dressing room at Tramlines Festival 2022, Alfie said: “I didn’t [get to meet him], we had a gig the next day and I really wanted to see him.
“I think Harry was probably hidden away, doing his own thing in the day, he’s the biggest thing on the planet, so I guess he was separated from the rest of the artists.
“I did want to meet him and say ‘Hey, I covered your song, I hope you liked it’, I hope [he saw it].”
The Colour Me Blue hitmaker revealed he was excited to watch Inhaler perform on the main stage of Tramlines Festival before adding: “I wish I saw Pixiey but we’ve just been on tour.”
Discussing Inhaler frontman Elijah Hewson who is the son of U2 legend Bono, he said: “It’s pretty crazy, he’s got a voice like Bono as well, it’s just as powerful.
“He’s a pretty incredible singer, he does a good job, he does his own thing, they’re great live, they’re really good.”
Alfie’s debut album Mellow Moon shot to the top of the UK Indie Charts and he says that was bigger than any of his singles getting a Top 40.
“Just getting that position was really cool, I was lost for words seeing it go up there, I’ve only been doing it for a few years so it’s crazy to see the growth,” he explained.
He continued: “Last year, I had a fraction of people listening to me compared to what’s going on right now.
“I can’t keep up with it, it’s quite overwhelming.”
The hitmaker revealed, “half of the album” was just him “messing around” in his bedroom during the first coronavirus lockdown.
Currently, Alfie is doing “close to 100 gigs this year” and explained that he and his band are “adapting” to life on the road as they prepare for their biggest tour.
The Everybody’s Gonna Love Somebody singer went on to say that during his Australian tour, he was lucky to hang out with a “bunch of kangaroos” and cuddled native animals.
Reflecting on his upcoming tour, he said: “I’m looking forward to having a break and rehearsing the songs beforehand.
“Then going back on tour and finishing the year on a real high, these are our biggest gigs as a headline act.”
