BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty claps back at co-star over cheeky height jibe

BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty appeared to be insulted after her co-star insinuated that she’s ‘not tall enough’.

The BBC host was chatting to reporter Mike Bushell, alongside co-host Roger Johnson, during Saturday morning’s programme (July 30) when the topic of the host’s height came up.

Mike had visited Birmingham for the Commonwealth Games to see the great mechanical bull which had been built for the occasion.

Reporter Mike even stepped inside the creation, which Naga wanted to know more about, and asked him what it was like inside.

She said: “Can you tell me what it was like inside there, did it feel cavernous?”

Mike then answered: “It was incredible it felt like something weirdly something out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was magical it was like a little fantasy place.

“But you had to be small to get in there, with all due respect, Roger, I don’t think you would have got in there. That’s why I was given exclusive access.”

To which Nanga quipped: “What do you mean, Mike? Don’t you think id be too tall for it, Mike?”

He responded: “Oh no, you’d be fine.”

Naga’s co-host Roger then added: “You two would be fine, wouldn’t have even gotten in through the little hatch.”

Some viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the mighty structure, with one writing: “Not a bad view outside of work today. So impressed with the Bull, mechanical genius I even managed to get @mikebreakfast in”

Another swiped: “#bbcbreakfast I couldn’t care less about that stupid mechanical bull..”

This comes after fans noticed a shake-up on the presenting panel, with Charlie Stayt replaced in a sudden move by Roger Johnson.

Charlie and Naga usually present the programme together from Thursday to Saturday each week.

One fan tweeted: “Spock pulled me through as we went warp factor 2. Where’s Charlie Stayt?”

While another added: “”Waking up to two of your favourite tv hosts @TVNaga01 & @RogerJ_01 presenting @BBCBreakfast – you know it’ll be a good Saturday!”
