BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty urges co-star to 'ask for help' as she admits struggle

BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty was keen to support one of her new colleagues as she urged them to ask for help.

The host also admitted one of her own behind the scenes struggles in a candid social media post.

Radio 5 Live presenter Naga was keen to congratulate Twitter user Laura Conder, who announced the news she will be joining the broadcaster as a Journalism Researcher.

Laura announced to her own 400 plus followers: “I’ve got news time.

“Next month I will be joining the @BBCNews as a Journalism Researcher in News Intake.

“Still suffering from massive imposter syndrome about it but so incredibly happy about going into a dream role so early in my career.”

She added that she will be leaving her current job as a reporter for Bedfordshire Live, which was an “absolute privilege” to carry out.

Laura wrote: “Sadly that does mean that I will be leaving at @BedsLive (Bedfordshire Live).

“It’s been an absolute privilege to cover my home patch as my first proper journalism job.

“Luton is such a fantastic place and it will always be home. I will also not be renouncing my crown as the Queen of Luton ever.

“Thank you to all the wonderful press officers, people and amazing individuals of Luton and Bedfordshire who’ve let me tell their stories. It’s been an honour.”

Which is when Naga chimed in on the social media platform to wish Laura the best of luck – while admitting she is also prone to a bit of imposter syndrome.

She penned: “Hi Laura – Welcome! I also often feel imposter syndrome – It’s not so unusual.

“Do your best, ask for help and well done on the dream role!”

The new BBC researcher reached out to Naga to thank her for the support, while reassuring her that Naga’s hard work landed her the lofty position she now holds in the company.

She wrote in response: “Thank you so much. You really shouldn’t feel that way either. You’ve worked extremely hard for your success. I really appreciate your kind words.”

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
