Casualty viewers were stunned to learn the true number of years one of their favourite characters has been in the show.
Fans of the show who logged on to Twitter for Saturday’s episode (March 12) were met with a message from the official BBC Casualty account that revealed the work anniversary of a leading star on the show.
Viewers who have grown to love actor William Beck’s on-screen persona Dr Dylan Keogh were amazed to see that he was celebrating 11 years on the show.
The loveable ED doctor has had his fair share of juicy storylines since he joined the cast in 2011 and fans took a walk down memory lane after reading the tweet.
It said: “#OnThisDay in 2011, Dylan joined the E.D team. Happy 11 years of Dr Keogh everyone! What’s your favourite Dylan moment?”
The replies came flooding in as keen viewers couldn’t wait to reminisce over some of Dr Keogh’s greatest moments.
One wrote: “His OCD storyline. It was one of a few reasons that pushed me to start the degree I signed up for.”
Another added: “When Dylan breaks his leg and David has to relocate it in the ED.”
A third gushed: “All of them. My absolute favourite character in all the years it’s been on telly. Never missed an ep since the beginning.”
Another social media user tweeted: “When he’s said in the past “Well if you don’t have this treatment you will die!”
A fifth quipped: “Love Dylan’s dry wit. Just wish he would find happiness.”
And a popular request from viewers seems to be that BBC bosses let Dylan find true love as Twitter uses advocated for him having a new romantic interest – or at least some happiness.
One would-be cupid posted: “I just love his dry sense of humour. His character is brilliant. Give him a girlfriend.”
Another agreed: “Love Dylan, he needs another love interest!!”
A third continued: “I love William Beck as Dylan fabulous character. He needs a bit of happiness though you need to give him a girlfriend.”
And another keen fan penned: “11 years ago the fantastic Dylan Keogh made his first appearance! I can go on for ages about how brilliant, flawed, complex & layered he is.
“He really is one of the very best characters and I hope we continue to have him on our screens for many more years.”
