The Wanted singer Tom Parker has sadly passed away aged 33.
The singer’s heartbroken wife Kelsey, who shares two children with the late star, announced the tragic news on Instagram on Wednesday (March 30) having been diagnosed with an inoperable stage-four glioblastoma in 2020.
She said her heart was “broken”.
Kelsey’s sad news has triggered an outpouring of grief online, with fans and celebrity friends paying tribute to the musician.
Former Strictly star James – whose dad died last year after being diagnosed with a brain tumour – tweeted: “Just heard that Tom Parker passed away. The same wicked disease that took my father.
“My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a very special man that I had the honour of meeting several times.
“Rest In Peace brother.
“My dad will be there waiting for you with a beer.”
The Vamps star Connor Ball posted: “33 is far too young, so much sadness.”
Martin Kemp said Tom’s “bravery”, “fight” and “spirit” would never be forgotten.
“Rest in peace, my love goes out to all your family and all your friends,” he added.
Actress Tamzin Outhwaite said she was “floored” by the news.
She tweeted: “Sending love and light to Tom’s wife and children. So unbelievably tragic. RIP Tom Parker.”
Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins said she was “so desperately sad”.
“So full of life, it’s so cruel he’s gone way too soon at 33,” she tweeted.
“We were both patrons of @ellenorcharity and last time we spoke he still wanted to help others despite all he was going through. Sending huge love to Kelsey & @thewanted.”
Take That’s Howard Donald tweeted: “So young and so sad. RIP @TomParker from @thewanted.
“Strength and love to his family.”
TV star Rylan Clark tweeted: “I’ve just seen the news about Tom and that’s absolutely gutting. He was such a good’un. So sad to hear.
“Sending my love to Kelsey and the kids. Awful news x.”
Tom had opened up to fans about his diagnosis and kept his social media followers updated about his fight.
The late star was dad to two young children with Kelsey.
Announcing his death, she wrote on Instagram: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.
