Claudia Winkleman 'disgusted' as One Show unveils unrecognisable snap without fringe

Claudia Winkleman was left feeling disgusted when she was shown a throwback photo of her without a fringe on The One Show.

The Strictly Come Dancing presenter appeared on BBC show to promote her upcoming Behind the Fringe live tour, which kicks-off on Friday night and will see her offer audience members fringe trims from local hairdressers.

During the segment hosts Alex Jones and Ronan Keating surprised Claudia by showing her before she had a fringe.

A stunned Claudia said: “Is that actually me?”.

“That’s disgusting,” she added. “Let’s take it off.”

When asked if she would go blonde, she added: “I only work because of the hair, I can’t change it.”

Despite Claudia’s shame over her old barnet, viewers rushed to Twitter to shower her with compliments about her fringe.

One said: “#TheOneShow Claudia Winkleman looks so much better without the fringe!”

A second gushed: “So much better without the fringe #claudiawinkleman #TheOneShow.”

A third added: “Claudia has the best hair.”

On The One Show, Claudia also spoke about her decision to do something “new and scary” after her 50th birthday.

Alex asked her: “Now, we’re going to talk about you turning 50. You said you were going to do something scary, something new?.”

Claudia said she “doesn’t like new” and made the statement without thinking anything would come of it.

The presenter said “I mentioned it casually, like, in the same way, you would say to somebody, ‘Do you know what I think I’m going to have HP instead of ketchup’, super casual.

“And then the lovely humans went, ‘Oh yeah you’ve got a baby tour just go out and do it’.

“It’s going to be awful, but the main thing is, thank you for having me and whatever you do, don’t come!

“Well come if you want but I will feel so responsible for the people that are there.

“I will make sure they have a good time whatever happens, whether I need to go back to their houses and clean it, or hand out sweets, we are doing fringe trims, whatever I can do to make it up to them.”
