Fans of Coronation Street were left rather puzzled on Friday night after Emma Brooker was able to book a flight to Australia and seemed to have her visa sorted at rapid speed.
After much deliberation, the apprentice hairdresser decided to pack her bags and leave the cobbles for good with her boyfriend John in tow.
However, fans noticed a hole in the script with Emma being able to sort her visa fairly quickly- something that often takes months to process.
Noticing the error, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One person wrote: “Emma going to Australia ‘tonight’… to get a flight to Australia on the day would cost thousands of pounds and she needs a visa to enter Australia. Wouldn’t happen… not in a million years! Come on #Corrie – get the continuity right please.”
Another social media user questioned: “Um, so Emma’s moving to Australia just like that really? What about actual Visa’s & all that kinda stuff?”
A third shared: “Unless Emma is an Australian citizen she’ll need a tourist visa at least to get into Australia. She’s just going to dump the McDonald’s as fast as she got to know them.”
A fourth added: “Emma got her visa quick didn’t she.. what a load of tosh.”

At the end of the episode, a tearful Emma said her goodbyes to her friends and family on the street.
Although her father Steve was unsure of his daughter jetting off to another country, Emma told him she had nothing holding her back in Weatherfield which warrants her stay.
However, over the last few days, Corrie fans have also shared their thoughts on how quickly Emma and John have fallen for each other and how they are eager to start a new life with one another over seas.
Taking to Twitter again, one person said: “It was not that long ago that Emma was in love with Curtis and they were getting married, now she’s in love with wet blanket John!!”
Meanwhile another fan added: “John and Emma going to aussie but how can you fall in love already? Maybe this is why she gets hurt too soon.”
