Ryan Thomas showed off his incredible transformation after spending 12 weeks preparing for ITV’s new show The Games, with the first episode airing on Monday evening.
The former Coronation Street star shared a photo of his new ripped figure with fans on Monday, May 9, as he stood in the gym with his hands on his hips wearing a pair of blue shorts.
The 37-year-old revealed the results of his intensive training, which he went through ahead of appearing in The Games, where he’ll compete with 12 other celebrities in a series of sporting events.
He captioned the photo: “The wait is finally over & what a journey it’s been 12 weeks of intense training learning 9 different athletic sports with some of the best coaches in the country.
“With a massive thank you to my PT @michaelevansfitness preparing me mentally & physically for this challenge we worked so hard being dedicated to the routine, diet & determination.
“Tune in live tonight 9pm every night this week on @itv 1 @thegamestv.”
His friends and family were quick to comment on the actor’s transformation and wished him luck with the show.
Ryan’s younger brother and former Love Island star Scott Thomas commented: “Shape on the lad!!! Let’s gooooo big bro.”
The Wanted singer Max George who is also taking part in the show wrote: “Unbelievable work mate. So proud of ya. You’ve got this!”
Meanwhile his fiancé and former The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh took to Instagram to share her thoughts.
Lucy, who is currently pregnant with the couple’s second child, joked about both of their transformations.
She said: “While I’ve been getting fatter, he’s been getting fitter! Haha. Very proud fiancé watching him work so bloody hard training in nine sports for @thegamestv and also adding extra training on top of that & sticking to a stricter diet than normal.
“Then on his “rest days” & evenings taking the kids out and helping with daddy duties!
“It’s taken a lot of will power and determination these last 12 weeks & I couldn’t be more proud of him!”
The Games will be broadcast each night this week at 9pm and is hosted by Holly Willoughby, Freddie Flintoff, Chris Kamara and ex-footballer Alex Scot.
Among the other celebrities taking part are former Strictly star Kevin Clifton, Christine McGuinness, and former Love Island star Olivia Attwood.
