Dan Walker’s advice was ignored by Sally Nugent when she took over from Louise Minchin as one of the main presenters on BBC Breakfast at the end of last year.
Writing for The Sunday Times, Sally gave fans a glimpse inside her day-to-day life, while revealing some advice that her co-host gave her – that she decided to ignore.
In her piece for the publication she said that when she’s presenting BBC Breakfast her alarm goes off at 3.45am.
After her stint on the sofa, she then leaves the BBC studios at 10.30am.
She wrote: “The show finishes at 9.13am. Not a minute later. We then debrief. I leave the studio around 10.30am.
“Unlike Dan, who stays up, I go home, take off all my make-up and go back to bed.
“It’s an old bit of [former BBC Breakfast presenter] Bill Turnbull wisdom.
“It’s never more than an hour.
“Then I get up and start my day again.”
After giving fans an insight of what her daily schedule is like, she said: You have to be really careful on breakfast shows that you don’t do the double breakfast. It’s notorious.”
This comes as Dan took a break for half term – which is why the popular duo haven’t been seen together for a while.
Dan Walker flew to Rome with his family to spend some time enjoying what the city has to offer.
When he landed back in the UK he took to Instagram to share the news with his followers: “Well… we’ve had a lovely little family trip to Rome during half-term.
“I’ve been there covering sport before but never had a good look around.
“It’s basically like a giant museum! So much to see and the food was amazing.”
Dan is expected to return to BBC Breakfast this week.
This came after the BBC star confessed that he’s like to appear on Total Wipeout.
Taking part in an online Q&A, Dan was asked: “If you could host any television show that you haven’t already what would it be?”
Dan then replied: “Total Wipeout.”
Total Wipeout originally ran from 2009 – 2012 and was hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram.
The gameshow saw twenty contestants jet to Argentina where they took on an assault course aimed at putting their physical strength, balance and bravery to the test in the hope of winning £10,000.
