Fuming Dancing on Ice fans complained about the skating show’s studio audience – branding it ‘too noisy’ and ‘annoying’.
The star-studded ITV show returned to screens on Sunday night (March 6) with a special theme dedicated to expert judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.
Show hosts Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield stepped out to present the quarter-final, which saw Connor Ball, Kye Whyte, Kimberly Wyatt, Brendan Cole, Regan Gascoigne and Stef Reid battle it out on the ice rink.
Torvill and Dean Week even treated fans to a stunning sequence from expert figure skaters Chris and Jayne, which left the studio audience cheering and clapping along excitedly.
However, the fans watching along at home were clearly distracted by the audience noise, and some complained they couldn’t hear the show because of it.
One fan wrote: “Are the audience always this loud on #DancingOnIce couldnt hear what they were skating to at all”
A second said: “The added on cheering and applause is so annoying. There’s about 5 people in the audience but the sound affects make it sound like Wembley Stadium”
A third commented: “I think that song was by Take That but I couldn’t hear a damn thing over the audience screaming!”
A fourth complained: “The pathetically annoying and interfering audience noise is back”
A fifth added: “Who is on sound tonight they need sacking? Let’s see what the judges pick on Kye for this week”
The high-scoring show saw couples bag stacks of points from the judges – including Kimberly, Regan and Brendan.
Brendan wowed the judges with his headbanger skills, and Regan grew tearful when he received his points from the judges.
It also saw Connor Ball open up about his horrific leg injury – which saw him have multiple stitches last week.
Judge Oti Mabuse admitted she was getting emotional about his performance, too.
