The judges’ challenge on Dancing on Ice this week was for Sally Dynevor to include a lift without an assist – but she didn’t quite make it.
Sally and her partner Matt Evers danced to The Sound of Music soundtrack as part of musical week, but it didn’t quite take the judges’ breath away.
The Coronation Street actress was due to go solo as part of her lift, but she failed to do so, which was promptly picked up by the hosts.
As the judges gave their less-than-impressive scores, Phil reminded Sally that she was challenged with a lift this week as he said: “But assisted jumps, you didn’t want to let go?”
Sally appeared taken aback over Phil’s quip and said: “No, I know I didn’t,” as her partner immediately chimed in and shouted that she is a “national treasure”.
Fans soon caught wind of the awkward moment, with one user writing on Twitter: “Ooh Phil doesn’t like Sally?”
While another said: “Looks like even Phil is sick of Sally,” a third added: “Hahaha I love how Phil says it how it is.”
Sally had confessed on the show that she was desperately hoping to impress Arlene Phillips, who had given her the lowest score from the judges at 5/10.
She looked disappointed as she was given the score.
Sally Dynevor and Bez have both been facing quite a lot of online backlash due to them staying in the competition, resulting in Bez apologising to other celebrities in the show.
However, attempts are being made by the pair to branch out, with Sally’s hesitation in her lift likely to be related to a savage fall she had during the week.
Matt posted a picture of their fall on his Instagram stories in the week in which Sally looked vastly in pain.
Sally posted it herself and wrote: “Please God this doesn’t happen on Saturday.”
Although Sally was unable to make it through the judges’ challenge, she’s certainly been having a great time with her professional skater pal Matt, who has been supporting her every step of the way.
Dancing on Ice continues Sunday at 6pm on ITV.
