Former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook has shared a touching tribute to her father as he struggles with dementia.
Danniella, who played bombshell Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap, has been open about her family in the past, recently sharing a snap with her ‘mini-me’ daughter.
But over the weekend, it was the men in her life who took centre stage on Father’s Day, with her father Andrew and stepfather Eddie featuring on her Instagram.
Andrew, 74, made a rare appearance on Danniella’s social media as he continues to battle dementia.
She told 97,000 followers: “Happy Father’s Day to two very amazing men in my life, the first my dad who say has dementia and lucky still remembers us all. Thank you dad for being amazing all our lives and still today we love you.
“And the second is to my other dad my step dad Eddie, I actually don’t know sometimes where any of us will be with out you Ed, thank you for being funny full of love laughter good advice and the best bloody cook in the world have a fabulous Father’s Day both of you and know that both the kids and myself and Bobby love you both very much #dads #fathersday #stepdad #love.”
Danniella has been facing health battles of her own in recent times.
She has been in and out of hospital in recent months following a decline in her health, with the actress suffering from the potentially fatal blood-poisoning condition septicemia.
A rep for the star previously told The Sun: “Danniella suffered a sudden health shock.
“Thankfully the issue was caught early and dealt with by medical professionals. Danniella has been released from hospital and is home recovering with the support of close family.”
Prior to the hospital dash, Danniella underwent surgery to reconstruct her face – one of her many surgeries over the years.
Daniella told how she decided to go under the knife in a bid to restore her confidence after being hounded by online trolls over her appearance.
She explained to The Sun: “I’ve spent the last seven years trying to get somebody to do it, but they said no in case it failed and they got struck off.
“Plastic surgeons wanted £500,000 to change my face, so I thought I was never going to get it done. It was only because I went into intensive care before Christmas.
