Former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook revealed she will not be turning in to see Sam Mitchell, now played by Kim Medcalf, return to the show.
Danniella played Sam on and off from 1990 until 2016 – with Kim filling in the gaps.
It was announced earlier this year that the character of Sam would be returning to Albert Square, however, Kim got the call instead of Danniella.
When asked if she would tune in to see her Kim play the role, Danniella exclusively told the Daily Star that she would most definitely not be.
Danniella said: “I don’t even know if she’s coming or not I have no idea, but I won’t be watching, I don’t watch any soaps. I usually just watch Netflix.
“The only thing I watch on TV is anything with Sheridan Smith, she’s just phenomenal other than that I don’t even watch TV.”
This comes as Danniella has also recently denied the rumours that she would be joining the cast of a rival soap.
Despite being an EastEnders icon, there were whispers that the actress was going to join ITV’s Emmerdale.
Danniella said: “I’m not joining Emmerdale – I’m actually not looking to go back to TV just yet.
“I’m looking to go back to theatre, that’s really for me, it’s something that lights me up. And I’m also looking to maybe do a radio show, a breakfast show or a drive-time show, and do presenting.
“I do a lot for GB News so I’m really into that, politics and stuff like that.”
She added: “If they had a celebrity Married At First Sight I would do it, if I wasn’t getting married then I would have done something like that.
“My partner always said to me to go on it anyways and get it out your system, he’s cool.”
This comes after Danniella sent fans wild after teasing a potential soap return – but this time on the Dales.
Danniella had visited the Emmerdale set to film for a soap-themed podcast and wasn’t actually joining the ITV lineup, but fans got a little excited at the prospect and pleaded with her to join the cast.
She said: “Hey everyone, guess where I am today. I’ve actually made it, I’m here at The Woolpack.
“Yes, Westbrook is in Emmerdale. I’m in Emmerdale. I’m not technically in it but I’m there. What an amazing day, I’m so excited. Emmerdale! I’m so happy.”
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
