Denise Van Outen details worst part of harrowing split from fiancé Eddie Boxshall

Denise Van Outen has detailed the worst part of split from her ex-fiancé Eddie Boxshall.

The Celebrity Gogglebox star, 47, split from her partner of seven years earlier this year after claims arose of his multiple infidelities, with with The Sun alleging in January that Eddie had been engaging in phone calls with other women.

Speaking recently, Denise confirmed the worst part of her break-up with commodities trader Eddie was informing her 12-year-old daughter Betsy of the split.

Denise shares Betsy with her former flame and Holby City star Lee Mead, 40.

Speaking recently, she revealed that sharing the news of her and Eddie’s break-up with her only child ‘tore her apart’ and left an emotional Betsy in tears.

Denise told OK! Magazine: “It tore me apart watching her cry while I tried to make her understand.

“I’ve got too much self respect and I just can’t live that that. I felt like, in a few selfish moments, he’d ruined it.

“I couldn’t imagine it ever feeling the same.”

In her recently released autobiography A Bit of Me: From Basildon to Broadway and Back, Denise recalled confronting a woman who allegedly ‘had phone sex with Eddie’ while they were in a relationship.

She wrote: “Her name was Tracy and she had apparently spoken to Eddie over FaceTime and text for a long period — often from our home and sometimes from my flat in Hampstead, which she seemed to think was his.

“They’d never met in person, but she said the conversations had become sexual reasonably quickly.

“Some of the stuff I found on the phone seemed to support that.

“However she was upset with Eddie by then, because he had apparently ghosted her.”

Denise’s candid revelation follows reports she has been back in touch with her one-time fiancé and Jamiroquai star, Jay Kay.

The former couple famously dated for three years before their ‘painful’ separation in 2001.

It comes after the star admitted to helping herself to Communion wine while on a bender.

She admitted in her book that a pal asked: “Where the hell would be open on a Sunday morning that we could get some wine?”

Denise added of the incident: “I thought for a moment, and then it hit me. ‘Church!’

“As a Roman Catholic, I knew that there was Communion wine for sipping.”
