Dragons' Den viewers left 'wanting to vomit' after grim scenes of poo gel pitch

Dragons’ Den fans were left ‘wanting to vomit’ after a team pitched a poo wipe gel during the latest show.

This week’s episode of the BBC series saw budding entrepreneurs Georgia and Eli enter the Den first.

As the founders of the eco-friendly brand Wipe, the duo pitched a specially formulated 99% natural gel which users would put on toilet paper before wiping their bottoms.

The pair described it as an “eco-friendly way to clean up down there” and asked the Dragons for £50,000 for two percent equity.

Explaining their product, Georgia said: “Dry doesn’t clean.

“You wouldn’t clean your dishes with a dry wash cloth and certainly, if you had poo on your arm, you wouldn’t be satisfied just wiping it with dry tissue.

“So, why do we feel any different about toilet paper?”

While the Dragons got to grips with the product, viewers were horrified by the ‘grim’ pitch.

Posting to Twitter, some fans of the show even said the pitch had left them ‘wanting to vomit’.

One viewer wrote: “One minute in and I want to vomit thanks BBC,” as another commented: “Oh bloody hell, this is grim!”

Meanwhile, a third said: “Ugh. Eating my tea, thanks.”

A fourth viewer complained: “I picked the wrong time to start eating,” while another concluded: “Cheers #DragonsDen. Just when I’m eating a sausage roll.”

When it came to securing offers of investment from the Dragons, Georgia and Eli weren’t short on luck.

In spite of viewer disgust, Dragon Touker Suleyman was willing to invest in the poo gel venture

In spite of viewers’ disgust, Dragon Touker Suleyman was willing to invest in the poo gel venture.

He told the duo: “You are very credible but the way the I see it, you have to get this into people’s hands.”

Adding that they would have to get the product launched through the retail sector, he added: “I like the product.”

Touker then made them an offer, pledging to pay them the full £50,000 for fifteen percent of the company.

The pair ultimately declined the offer and walked away empty-handed.

Dragons’ Den airs at 8pm on Thursdays on BBC One.
