Eagle-eyed Tipping Point fans spot major blunder as quiz show gets answer wrong

Tipping Point viewers spotted a major blunder on the latest episode of the game show after host Ben Shepard served up the wrong answer to a trivia question.

Contestants Ben, Diane, Shannon and Ben joined the panel on tonight’s episode of the ITV quiz show as they competed to win £10k by answering a series of trivia questions and gambling coins on the machine.

But alert fans were left gobsmacked as contestant Ben was served up a wrong answer during his Q&A.

Contestant Ben was asked: “In the UK the longest day of the year appears in which month?”

Ben answered: “July,” but was corrected by Ben who informed him the answer was June.

Observant viewers immediately blasted the show, claiming the answer was wrong and dubbed the gaffe “outrageous!”.

One viewer raged: “Bad question on #tipping point the longest day isn’t in June… that’s the longest day light hours…. The longest day is when the clocks go back as it’s 25 hours!!!!”

Others soon joined forces to express their outrage at the error.

“You’re so right! That’s so bad, they should know better!” one viewer blasted. A second agreed: “Outrageous really, it’s a trivia show they should check their answers! #tippingpoint”

The ‘longest day’ of the year, also known as the Summer Solstice, sees Brits treated to almost 17 hours of sunlight sometime in the month of June.

But as eagle-eyed fans have pointed out, this only accounts for daylight hours and not the longest entire day, which works out longer with daylight savings time.

The game show was blasted back in January for another wrong answer blunder when host Ben accepted a controversial answer from a contestant.

The Good Morning Britain star appeared to let contestant Dan off the hook for offering up an incorrect answer.

Host Ben asked: “In which 2019 film set in Gotham City has a character played by Joaquin Phoenix, where he dances down a set of steps?”

Contestant Dan buzzed in with: “The Joker.”

The Tipping Point presenter confirmed: “Yes, it is Joker, yes.”

But some fans were outraged after Ben had accepted the movie title which had been answered incorrectly.

One angry viewer said: “Hang on he said The Joker, answer was Joker. Would have got that wrong if he was on #the chase #TippingPoint.”

Another movie fan chimed in: “It’s Joker Dan, not The Joker. But okay, it’s cool. #tippingpoint.”
